Is your professional services budget increasingly stretched? Do you worry that you are not making effective use of those you retain when you don’t have in-house expertise? Many readers of this blog are familiar with the annual Tools Conference that Iler Campbell LLP co‑hosts with Prentice Yates and Clark, an audit firm with strong roots in the non‑profit sector.
At Tools this year, in addition to all the great stuff you’re used to seeing, we’re trying something a little new. We’ll end the day with eight professionals from the worlds of auditing, management consulting, IT, investing, fundraising, social media, design and law who will give you their top tips on how best to use their services.
- Cathy Mann joins the panel as a familiar face to Tools‑goers, having lent her fundraising expertise at previous conferences – she’ll do the same on this panel.
- Crystal‑ Marie Sealy is an authority in the area of social media – something that all non‑profits know they should be using as a way promote their work, but few have devoted the energy to do it well.
- Investment expert, Hubert Lum, will contribute advice on investing amounts – big or small ‑ from his lengthy career in the world of money.
- Hear from Alex Shan, the CEO of Jolera Inc., a firm that provides IT support to a wide range of organizations in all sectors, including in the non‑profit world.
- Jay Wall focuses on design for progressive organizations, and will add his experience to the session.
- Get tips from Mieke Smulders, a management consultant with a wide range of experiences, on how to be efficient with your external consulting budget.
- Rounding out the session will be professionals from our co‑host firms – PYC and Iler Campbell LLP. Since most organizations will have some auditing and legal costs every year, look to Paul Jaroszko, and Celia Chandler for advice on how to keep these costs in line.
