Co-op Education Events Roundup – 2020 Winter/Spring

January 21st, 2020 by Iler Campbell

Happy new year to you all. We’ve settled back in after the holidays and are excited to announce that we will be out and about speaking at housing co-op events over the next few months.

Michael Hackl and Celia Chandler will deliver workshops (cannabis and human rights respectively) this Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Golden Horseshoe Winter Workshops in St. Catharines. This is a great event with co-opers from the GH area and beyond. Consider joining us. To learn more and register, click here.

Safia Lakhani will give co-op staff some pointers on using the small claims court process at the CoAction/CHFT Staff Education in Toronto on March 11, 2020. To hear Safia and others, including a great looking session on dealing with angry people, consider registering. Click here.

On April 22, 2020, Celia will head down the 401 to Ingersoll for the 2020 Staff Education Forum. Held at the Elmhurst Inn, this is a learning-filled and fun-filled two day event for housing co-op staff. In previous years, this was a highlight in the February calendar, but a bad storm last year has prompted organizers to wisely shift this to April. Celia will attend this year to present her top 10 “Messy Human Dramas” and also to give attendees an update on cannabis in housing since legalisation. For more information on how to register, pay attention to your favourite co-op e-newsletters. It’s sure to be advertised.

Halifax will host the CHF Canada AGM, Member Education Forum and Co-operative Management Conference in June this year. Stay tuned to our blog to the hear more about how Iler Campbell will participate. Registration opens on March 2, 2020.

Finally, we are excited to schedule another webinar following the successful launch of our IC Education webinar series in 2019. We’ll let you know what’s on offer soon.

If you have an event or a meeting coming up where you’d like some training, please be in touch with Celia Chandler at [email protected].
