Iler Campbell lawyer, Michael Hackl, is participating in a webinar hosted by the Canadian Worker Co-operative Federation this Wednesday, April 1 from 2 – 3:30 ET.
Below is CWCF’s description of the webinar:
While focused on CWCF members (including worker co-ops & related types of co-ops, associate members, regional WC federations & their member co-ops, & developer (WCDN) members), this webinar is open to others too, space permitting. Notes from the webinar will be posted on our website. We will cover:
- An overview of COVID-19, its symptoms, and appropriate precautions to take (By a public health nurse).
- The responsibilities of employers (By a lawyer from Iler Campbell).
- Small group discussions on solidarity and collaboration among co-ops.
- Information on supports available to co-ops from the federal government and supports CWCF can provideto member co-ops.
- Information on the proposal CWCF has submitted to Prime Minister Trudeau for support for conversions to worker co-ops and related types of co-ops, and including supports for existing member co-operatives. The proposal is entitled: BUILDING A SOLIDARITY CO-OPERATIVE ECONOMY.
Presenters will include:
- Leslie Myers, Community Health Nurse, Alberta Health Services, on the health aspects of Covid-19
- Michael Hackl, Lawyer with Iler Campbell, on employer responsibilities,
- Dan Brunette, Director, Advocacy and Partnerships with CMC, on federal supports
- Hazel Corcoran, Executive Director, CWCF, on CWCF supports and our federal proposal, submitted March 24th
